Carpet cleaning is an important aspect of any home or office cleaning not only for appearance but also for healthy living. In high traffic areas, your carpet should be vaccumed at least once per week to increase the lifespan of your carpet and to prevent a buildup of unwanted fibers that can cause damage to your carpet.
Carpet cleaning must be done in a diligent manner and each section needs to be done several times and in a slow motion method to allow the suction of the vaccume to remove every little bit of dirt. Arease where people sit and move their feet around need special detail and should be vaccumed in a criss cross fashion.
Check your vacuum cleaner periodically to insure that the brush isn't worn out and that it is clean and functioning properly. On average the power head brushes last about a year and a half.
Don't forget the stair case! Of all the carpet within your home the stairs take the most abuse on a daily basis and usually receive the least amount of attention.
